Is the government able to stop spam? No, if the sender has a valid unsubscribe in the email, that complies with government regulations.

I unsubscribe, does that work? No, you only unsubscribe from that particular email not from any others that they send in the future. This also shows the spammers that your email address is valid.

Do I still need anti-virus software? Yes, our service cleans your email. You should still have anti-virus software on your computer. Email is not the only way for your computer to be infected by a virus.

Will I have the ability to decide what is spam? Yes, the filter will block all email that is known to be spam and it will quarantine the rest. You will receive an email each day with a link to your personal quarantine list. You will have the ability to determine what is spam and what is not. Over time the filter will add this information to the database and the spam blocking results will be even better. We encourage each user to check their quarantine file often.

I installed anti-virus, am I safe? Anti-virus software needs to updated on a regular basis and typical subscriptions are only good for 1 year. If a new virus comes out and you are not updated or your subsription is expired, you are at risk

I have AOL, what can I do? You can connect to your AOL the same way you always do. After connecting, minimize the AOL window and open your email client. (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc) You will be able to send and receive through Denick.net. Many people think with AOL the only way to send and receive email is through them. That is not true. They are your internet connection. You can send and receive through any email provider you choose.

Can I forward my AOL email? Yes. There are services such as forwardamerica.com that will forward your AOL email to another ISP. They can forward your email to Denick.net for filtering.

What do I have to setup on my side to use Denick.net? If you signup for a Denick.net account, you only need to add the new account to your email client. If you have your own domain name and email already setup, you do not have to change anything in your email client. You will need to contact your isp and have your mx record point to our filter.

What is my mx record? It is the Domain Name Server record that tells the world where your email goes for delivery.

Do I have to host my email with Denick.net to use the filtering? No, as long as your email comes here to be filtered, we can forward your email anywhere you like.
